The quieter Melbourne

Over Easter Bec’s parents came to stay with us in Melbourne. They do not like the bustle of a larger town, so we decided to find them some activities to show them that Melbourne also has a slower paced aspect. I often forget these parts of Melbourne, as I like things to be busy, and am often wishing Melbourne was a little more hectic if anything. However Melbourne also has many beautiful areas where one can escape for some quieter afternoons. The Collingwood Children’s Farm, the Abbotsford Convent and the Heide Museum of Modern Art are all places where one can forget that they are in the city at all.

At the moment there is a fantastic exhibition of Australian Modernism at Heide. So any Melbourne readers should definitely head out there if you can.
